The world is an increasingly complex and small place, with so many issues, causes, themes, trends and cultures interconnecting. But we are not always well prepared or educated to think in a connected way about vital local or global issues.  It requires in shift in how we think about issues, and new tools and skills for articulating and understanding the connections.  We’ll learn techniques including Issue Mapping, Issue Analysis, Shifting Perpectives and Strategic Intervention. This experiential, fun, fast-paced, hands-on 90 minute workshop will enable you to see issues in a more connected way, ask the right questions, uncover the key causes and effects, and plan effective next steps and actions that make a difference.

Si was the Director of the World Learning Youth Peacebuilding & Leadership Programs based in Vermont from 2001 to 2018.   He is now a freelance educator & consultant working with many different organizations and clients, including American Councils, Move Mountains, The Chewonki Foundation and The Governor’s Institutes of Vermont. He is an accomplished Global Educator, Director, Facilitator, Trainer, and Outdoor Guide who has worked with learners ages 7 to 70 from 175 countries, and has delivered trainings and programs in 40 countries. He specializes in teaching and facilitation about leadership, teamwork, emotional intelligence, mindfulness, global issues, civics, communication, conflict transformation, project design & delivery, risk management, and the design and directing of summer camps.  Originally from England, Si has spent a lot of time in Australia and New Zealand and has lived in the US for 29 years. When not teaching or directing programs, Si loves working as the "Camp Cook", preparing delicious, healthy food for children and staff. He is a kayak & paddleboard instructor and enjoys being outside and working on farms.
