Engaged in discussing fascinating and complex topics, you will practice your English, get a better understanding of the United States, and engage in critical thinking and open debate much valued in U.S. academia.

This week we will discuss peoples emotions. Are American smiles "fake"? Are Russians sincerely "cold"? How common courtesy impacts our daily lives and how we build relationships with people. Lets discuss the differences and the similarities!

Nikolai Rubanovsky is a press analyst at European Union Delegation to Russia and a Fulbright Alumnus. Nikolai holds a bachelors degree in International Relations from Lobachevsky State University of Nizhniy Novgorod and a masters degree in Communication and International Development from Ohio University. He hosts a podcast series discussing American and Russian societal differences, has organized several lecture series and community development projects in the US.
Mark Marich is a fashion designer, entrepreneur and a musician. Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics with a minor in Money and Banking from Penn State University. He was pursuing his career as an equity sales trader in New York City but followed his dream to become an art creator.
