Film Screening and Discussion: Martin Luther King, Jr: I Have A Dream
In this new series of biweekly film screenings and discussions, the participants will watch documentary and feature films and discuss the issues raised in these films.
To mark Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a federal holiday celebrated in the USA on January 20, 2020, the American Center in Moscow invites viewers to watch a hisotrical compilation of major speeches given by the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.:
Lincoln Memorial, Washington D.C. — August 28, 1963
Brown Chapel, Selma, Alabama — March 8, 1965
Final Speech, day before Dr. King`s Assassination — April 3, 1968
Robert F. Kennedy Eulogy — April 4, 1968
The screening will be preceeded by a presentation that will introduce the viewers to the biography of Martin Luther King Jr. and the key ideas of his famous speech "I Have a Dream". The screening will be followed by a discussion.
