Apollo-Soyuz Anniversary Film Screening: "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope"
In celebration of the 45th anniversary of the Apollo-Soyuz docking and the ‘handshake in space’ which took place on July 17, 1975 between Soviet Cosmonaut Alexey Leonov and American astronaut Thomas Stafford, the U.S. Embassy and American Center in Moscow launch a series of monthly film screenings united by the theme of space and space exploration.
Today we are screening the legendary fiction film " Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope" directed by George Lucas, starring Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford.
Film synopsis: Luke Skywalker joins forces with a Jedi Knight, a cocky pilot, a wookiee and two droids to save the galaxy from the Empire’s world-destroying battle-station, while also attempting to rescue Princess Leia from the evil Darth Vader.
