Today Jehan will talk about Toni Morrison, an American novelist, share her life story and discuss the most famous novels. 

Chloe Anthony Wofford Morrison, known as Toni Morrison, was an American novelist, essayist, book editor, and college professor. Her first novel, The Bluest Eye, was published in 1970. The critically acclaimed Song of Solomon brought her national attention and won the National Book Critics Circle Award. In 1988, Morrison won the Pulitzer Prize for Beloved (1987); she gained worldwide recognition when she was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1993.

Jehan Jones-Radgowski is a U.S. Foreign Service Officer. She has lived all over the world, including the Dominican Republic, Germany, Ghana, South Africa, Spain, and Venezuela.  She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She is the author of The Escape of Robert Smalls:  A Daring Voyage out of Slavery, and John Lewis: Get to know the Statesman Who Marched for Civil Rights. Later in 2020, her biographies on Harriet Tubman and Booker T. Washington will be released. Jehan works for the U.S. Embassy in Moscow and lives here with her family and a very old Собачка.
