Starting with the first enslaved Africans who were bought to America in 1619 up through the death of George Floyd and subsequent protests, Jehan will talk about race relations in the U.S.
Speakers bio:
Jehan Jones-Radgowski is a U.S. Foreign Service Officer. She has lived all over the world, including the Dominican Republic, Germany, Ghana, South Africa, Spain, and Venezuela. She is the author of The Escape of Robert Smalls: A Daring Voyage out of Slavery, John Lewis: Get to know the Statesman Who Marched for Civil Rights and she has also published biographies on Harriet Tubman and Booker T. Washington. Jehan is currently working on a book for children on the Emancipation Proclamation. Jehan works for the U.S. Embassy in Moscow and lives here with her family and a very old Собачка.
