Join us July 13 at 7:30 pm for a discussion with Heads of the International Youth Opera Programs of the Bolshoi and the Met—Dmitriy Vdovin and Diane Zola—live with Russian interpretation.

Topics to be discussed include the collaborative programs and exchanges between the Bolshoi and the MET for young opera singers, the process for becoming a world-class opera singer, the current situation for both opera houses during the pandemic, and plans for future collaboration between the distinguished opera houses.

Dmitriy Vdovin is a founder, artistic director, and voice teacher of the Young Artist Program of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, 2009-present. He has given masterclasses and has served on the jury of prestigious vocal competitions all over the world. He is an Honored Master of Arts of Russia and Cavaliere dell’Ordine al merito della Repubblica Italiana.

Diane Zola is the Metropolitan Opera Assistant General Manager of the Artistic Division, overseeing the artistic output of the opera house. She also serves as the Executive Director for the Lindemann Young Artists Program at the Met. From 2009 until 2015, she was appointed Principal Consultant of the Young Artists Program at the Bolshoi Theater, and continues her relationship with the Young Artists Program as guest coach. She has served on juries of international singing competitions and has given masterclasses and consultations for young musicians throughout the United States and the world. She has received numerous awards for her U.S.-Russia cultural engagement.

Moderating the discussion is Galina Golubova, General Director of the TURNE Concert, Production and Information Agency, and producer of American-Russian joint opera projects.
