AMC Online | Who are Indigenous Peoples in the US and Russia and Their Rights in International and Domestic Law

Join us on the eve of UN International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples for a discussion on the rights of indigenous peoples in the United States and Russia, Friday, August 7, 2:00-3:00 pm MSK (Moscow). The discussion will be held in English and Russian.

Ruslan Garipov is an Adjunct Professor at American University School of International Service. He previously worked at Kazan Federal University Law School as Associate Professor (2011-2019) and at the Woodrow Wilson Center as Fellow with the Polar Institute (2018-2019), where he researched the Arctic Sustainable Development and Indigenous Peoples’ Rights. He earned his JD and PhD in International Law from Kazan State University and was selected as a Fulbright scholar in 2007.

The program will be moderated by Louis Crishock, Consul General of the U.S. Consulate in Vladivostok.
