To celebrate Women’s History Month with us, we invite you to join us for a series of events that uncover the hidden past of amazing women in American history, including the first woman to lead Arctic expeditions, the first African American woman aviator, the first woman to swim the English Channel, first woman to direct a feature-length film, the first African American woman to headline a concert at Carnegie Hall, and a trailblazing astronomer and discoverer of stars.

From March 5 for two weeks, watch short films about (ten) incredible women explorers, innovators, and adventurers on the Cool Connections COOL PLAY platform: www.coolconnections.ru/ru/play...    

Or catch these films in a viewing marathon on the American Center’s Facebook page on March 11 starting 2:00 PM Moscow time. The film marathon will be available for viewing for two weeks on the AMC Facebook feed.

On March 10 from 6:30-7:30 pm Moscow time on our Facebook page, talk live with Charlotte Mangin, the Unladylike series creator, executive producer, director and writer, who began her career with National Geographic. Charlotte will talk about the importance of uncovering the hidden past, especially the stories of women, as well as how she created a successful educational program to promote this important cause. Russian interpretation will be available.
