Welcome to the lecture by Shawn Rosenmoss, Manager of Development, Community Partnerships, and the SF Carbon Fund, for the San Francisco Department of the Environment. The lecture will be followed by a conversation and live Q&A moderated by Angelina Davydova.
This presentation will focus on San Francisco’s programs, communication tools, and challenges to moving from a linear “take, make, and waste” approach to production and consumption to a more circular approach. It will highlight San Francisco’s work to reframe the concept of “waste” and move beyond recycling.

She develops resources for renewable energy, zero waste, and climate initiatives, and oversees the Department’s grantmaking and partnerships such Greenstacks, a collaboration with the city’s 27 public libraries. A former dancer and aerialist, she holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and a Secondary Math Teaching Credential. Rosenmoss sits on the board of Mission Science Workshop and works on several initiatives to promote diversity in environmental STEM fields.
