The American Center’s weekly English Conversation Club is back online and welcomes everyone who wants to practice their English and communication skills to join a Zoom session on October 25 at 5:00 pm MSK! 

We are having discussions on different topics, such as arts and culture, business and intercultural communication, sports and health. You will have an opportunity to express your opinion using your creativity and knowledge and to practice building arguments to feel confident in every conversation. Don’t miss your chance to upgrade your English conversation skills, make new connections, and get inspired by intersting discussions. 

Our topic for a discussion on October 25 is "Halloween". Halloween is celebrated in the United States on October 31. Halloween originated in Europe but during the 19th century immigrants brought it to North America, where it spread in popularity and evolved in many ways. People still celebrate by wearing scary costumes. After dressing up, kids go trick-or-treating. The traditional scary and modern fun sides of Halloween are seen today as the Jack-o’-lanterns that people create by carving scary faces on pumpkins. Other modern fun activities that reflect the traditional past of Halloween include watching horror movies and visiting haunted houses.
