Welcome to the Tap Dance Master Class series, where American instructors all tap dance performers and teachers - will conduct the dance classes for the American Center in Moscow audience. Each session will be a one-hour demo/class followed by a 30-minute Q&A. The series will be interesting to both tap professionals and tap enthusiasts.
Martin Dumas III (TRÉ) is our guest for the fifth meeting in the series and will perform on Monday, December 20 at 7 PM Moscow time.
TRÉ is a tap dancer, choreographer, vocalist, and actor, from Chicago, IL. He received his early dance training at Tommy Suttons Mayfair Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago. Hes a graduate of Clark Atlanta University holding a B.A. in Mass Media Arts.
Since 1995 TRÉ has taught and performed regularly at various festivals including L.A. Tap Fest and Chicago Tap Summit (co-founder) among many others. He has also received numerous awards for his choreography.
TRÉ was featured in North American and European tours of "Riverdance". In 2001 he partnered with Bril Barrett to create M.A.D.D Rhythms, and M.A.D.D. Rhythms Tap Academy. He portrayed a fiery tap dancing preacher in Derick Grants "Imagine Tap", and co-starred w/Dormeshia Sumbry Edwards in critically acclaimed independent film "The Rise and Fall of Miss Thang". He appeared on television series Secret Talents of the Stars dancing with songstress, Mya. TRÉ has worked with Jason Samuels Smiths ACGI.
TRÉ created Chicagos musical professional tap ensemble, JusLisTeN. TRÉ did a three-month artistic residency at Vancouver Tap Society in 2015.
TRÉ has taught and performed throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, South America and Asia.
