Through his work as an entertainer Walt Disney did more to spread American cultural values than almost any other figure of the twentieth century. The extent of his lasting cultural influence on America and the world can not be overstated: his films, theme parks, and exhibitions at international expositions transmitted a uniquely American sense of optimism and joy that is still enjoyed by people throughout the world to this day.
