Are you looking for a new, creative way to express yourself in English? Have you always been interested in creative writing but didnt know where to start? Are you already a seasoned storyteller but are looking for an opportunity to improve your skills? Then you should join the American Centers biweekly Creative Writing Club with Blair Dunbar, long-time writing intern with EducationUSA Russia and an experienced communications professional.
Through a series of biweekly interactive, hands-on workshops, well examine popular forms of creative writing, from personal essays to short stories, and work to develop skills related to the building blocks of these literary forms. From character development and imagery to dialogue and conflict resolution, each session will feature live instruction on a particular skill, followed by a series of exercises, dedicated writing time, and peer review. It wont be long till youre writing fabulous works of fiction and non-fiction! To kick off the club, well have a series of sessions focused on short stories.
Designed for students aged 14+ with upper-intermediate English. A pen and paper or laptop are required. No previous experience with creative writing needed.
The topic of Session 3 on December 21 at 7:00 PM MSK is "Writing Your Personal Memoir".
