The American Center in Moscow invites those who are interested in art in general and American art in particular to join a series of seven weekly presentations followed by discussions that will give a comrehensive overview of a very interesting period in the history of art in America abstract art.
The second presentation in the series, on January 19 at 8:00 PM MSK, will look back on an important period in art history preceeding the appearance of abstract art, explore main works of Eduard Manet, and explain why his oeurve denotes a significant turn in the history of art. The presentation will be followed by a discussion.
Led by Medea Paatashvili, an artist and curator of exhibitions. Currently Medea is pursuing a Master’s degree in History and Theory of Art at the Russian State University for the Humanities. Medea has arranged 42 exhibitions, and she also conducts master classes in drawing and painting.
