The American Center in Moscow invites the participants of the Russian-American Dialogue on Climate Change (Green Cities section) as well as everyone interested in environmentally friendly public spaces to an online talk on how green infrastructure and landscape are being implemented in New York on February 8 at 7:00-8:00 PM MSK.
In the 21st century, cities worldwide face new challenges due to climate change. 19th and 20th-century infrastructure can no longer handle the pressure of more frequent and devastating climatic stresses and shocks. Green Infrastructure — multifunctional landscapes and public spaces — can be one of the tools necessary to help us make our cities more climate-resilient.
During his presentation on February 8 at 7:00-8:00 PM MSK, Nabi Agzamov, Head of the Center for Urban Resilience and Ecology at Strelka KB, will share his knowledge and experience on how green infrastructure and landscape are being implemented as practical climate adaptation tools in New York.
About the guest-speaker: Nabi Agzamov is an Architect, Urban Designer, and Head of the Center for Urban Resilience and Ecology at Strelka KB. His work concentrates on designing a more sustainable and resilient urban environment by reinforcing the relationships between water, ecology, and cities.
Before Strelka KB Nabi worked at a landscape architecture firm SCAPE in New York, where, among other projects, he participated in the design of the “Ecological Citizens” exhibition for the U.S. Pavilion at the Venice Biennale Architettura (2018). Nabi holds a Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation at Columbia University, a Bachelor from New York Institute of Technology, and is an alumnus of The New Normal postgraduate program at Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture, and Design.
