About the speaker

Hi, my name is Anne Crutchfield. I earned a PhD in Education and an MA in Second Language Studies from the University of Hawaii at Mānoa and have a background in teaching academic English to international college students in Germany, Hawaii, and California.  In 2019, I started a private tutoring “side-hustle” that has grown into an e-commerce and edu-blogging business. I am excited to share my own story of how I became a “teacher-preneur” as a case study, and to discuss the opportunities and challenges of marketing and recruiting in the global English marketplace--with a special focus on social media.  I am excited to learn from the participants in my webinar about their needs and available resources, and I look forward to exploring creative possibilities for promotional frameworks together.  My tip for other educators interested in entrepreneurship is: creativity + consistency + collaboration = community. In my webinar, I will explain this formula and share more lessons that I have learned as an English teacher-turned-business owner.
