This episode of our POTLUCK Series takes you to Washington, DC, where Tony Chittum’s Iron Gate serves flavors inspired by Greek, Sicilian, Sardinian, and Southern Italian cuisines in a cozy, romantic ambiance. 

Influenced by his upbringing in the Chesapeake Bay and inspired by his travels in Greece and Southern Italy, Tony Chittum prioritizes locally sourced, seasonally-driven ingredients – because good food starts with good ingredients. Chittum began his culinary journey cooking at casual, local seafood restaurants before taking an opportunity to expand his career out west in San Francisco. Upon returning to Washington, DC, he joined the Neighborhood Restaurant Group and received numerous accolades as Executive Chef at restaurants like Notti Bianchi and Vermilion. Currently, Tony Chittum is the Executive Chef at the beautiful, award-winning Iron Gate, which opened in 2014.
