Every generation says it wants to change the world. But do they do that? This talk examines the ideology and role of different generations in American politics. It will explain how the changing of generations, specifically from what is known as the Baby Boomers to Millennials and Gen Z, will change American politics in the next ten years, especially when it comes to issues such as political polarization, political parties, and American public policy.
About the Speaker:
Professor David Schultz is a national expert on election law, professional ethics, state constitutional law, and eminent domain and land use law. He teaches courses in Election Law, State Constitutional Law, Constitutional Law, and Professional Responsibility. A professor in the political science department at Hamline University, Schultz teaches classes in American politics and public policy. Schultz has a Ph.D. in political science (89) and a JD (98) from the University of Minnesota, an LL.M. from the University of London (specializing in criminal law and the law of the European Union), MAs in political science and philosophy from Rutgers University and SUNY Binghamton respectively, a Masters of Astronomy from James Cook University, and a BA in political science and philosophy from SUNY Binghamton. Schultz is a three-time Fulbright Senior Specialist.
