Lecture by award-winning architect and photographer, William Brumfield.
Dr. William Brumfield, Professor of Slavic Studies at Tulane University, is an award-winning architect and photographer. He earned his Ph.D. in Slavic Languages at the University of California, Berkeley. He has also taught at Harvard University and is the author and photographer of a number of works on Russian architecture which have been included in The New York Times' "Notable Books of the Year." Brumfield's photographs of Russian architecture, exhibited at numerous galleries and museums, are part of the Image Collections at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C. Brumfield has won several awards, including a fellowship from the Guggenheim Foundation in 2000 and in 2014 he received the D.S. Likhachev Prize "for outstanding contributions to the preservation of the historic and cultural heritage of Russia."
