This week's Slow Reading club will discuss Lawrence Ferlinghetti's poem, "In Golden Gate Park That Day…" Ferlinghetti is an American poet, playwright and activist who helped spark the San Francisco literary movement of the 1950s and its "Beat" movement. His City Lights Bookstore was an important meeting place for the San Francisco literary world. It remains one of the most important and last independent book stores in the U.S.
