About the poet: Sophia DuRose attended an arts-focused high school in Kissimmee, Florida, where she majored in creative writing. Sophia continued to study and practice creative writing as an English major at the University of Pennsylvania. Working as a teaching assistant in Al Filreis’ “Representations of the Holocaust” class, she helps students contextualize the history of the Holocaust using texts and film resources. Sophia also works as a Program Assistant at UPenn’s historic Kelly Writers House.
