American Center invites you to a special talk with Amy Carst, a writer, speaker, and passionate advocate for human rights, both at home and on a global scale. She travels extensively, interviewing people from diverse backgrounds, races, and cultures. Many of her interviewees are widely stigmatized by society—communists, transgender men and women, refugees, addicts, atheists, the devoutly religious, the ultra-wealthy, and the ultra-poor.

Amy will talk about her recently-published book, Expand Your Bubble—which includes interviews with Professor Noam Chomsky, best-selling author Yuval Noah Harari, Mahatma Gandhi’s grandson, Arun Gandhi, and the highest-paid female CEO in the United States, Martine Rothblatt—Amy is a regular contributor to various publications, human rights organizations, and immigration law firms.

Amy is also an inspiring and electrifying public speaker, having experience with everything from film and audio to intimate gatherings, workshops, and key note presentations. She is the head of communications and outreach for an orphanage and skills training program in central Uganda, where she founded a charitable coffee company, now run by local community members.
