A Drill-down on US – Russia Peer to Peer Collaboration

Welcome to a meeting with Michael M. Losavio, Assistant Professor at the University of Louisville.

The wealth of nations is their people. Open intellectual exchange enriches everyone; it is the opposite of the zero-sum game. We discuss the decades-long engagement between the cities of Perm and Louisville, facilitated by their Sister Cities relationship, and some of its outcomes. 

We focus on the growth of academic and scholarly collaborations between PGU and the University of Louisville, the benefits and products of that collaboration, and issues for future collaboration. These include

• the use of Internet teleconferencing technologies for academic presentations by faculty and students,
• faculty exchanges between the universities,
• student exchanges,
• collaborative academic publications  and
• collaborative project development and grant proposals.

Our analysis and that of audience participants will focus on the benefits and future of this collaboration and the possibilities of growth.

Michael Losavio teaches at the Department of Justice Administration and the Department of Computer Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky, U.S.A. on issues of law, society and information assurance in the computer engineering and justice administration disciplines. His focus is on law and social sciences as they relate to computer engineering, evidence and digital forensics. He holds a J.D. and a B.S. in Mathematics from Louisiana State University, Louisiana, U.S.A. He lectured on computer law and crime at Perm State University in 2013 as a Fulbright Specialist.
