The American Center in Moscow invites pre-service and in-service English language teachers to join a series of online viewing sessions of the “American English Live: Teacher Development Series 14” webcasts every other Thursday from May 12, 2022 through July 21, 2022. These viewing sessions will be conducted by the American Center in Moscow on Zoom and will be followed by a discussion.
American English Live Series 14 — six free professional development webinars for English language teachers around the world — will explore topics including Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), multi-level classrooms, and English for Specific Purposes (ESP).
The participants who attend 4 out of 6 online viewing and discussion sessions hosted by the American Center in Moscow on Zoom will earn an e-certificate from the Regional English Language Office. The viewing sessions take place every other Thursday from May 12, 2022 through July 21, 2022. You can sign up for each session by clicking the links below. To qualify for an e-certificate, you need to attend 4 out of 6 sessions on Zoom and fill out an attendance form during the session.
On July 21 at 4:00 PM MSK, during the session “Contextualizing English Instruction to Focus on Environmental Issues,” Susan Huss-Lederman and Danielle Sclafani will offer teaching techniques to situate language learning within local, environmental settings and demonstrate how to use authentic materials to connect local to global ecological concerns for learners of all ages and proficiency levels.
